Privacy Policy

Effective Date: November 1, 2026

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you use HeaterIQ, you may provide us with:

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

1.3 On-Device Processing

When you submit a video for analysis, HeaterIQ extracts a small set of still frames from it on your device. If you turn on the skeleton overlay, body pose detection also runs on your device using Apple's Vision framework. Before any frame leaves your device, HeaterIQ uses Apple's on-device Sensitive Content Analysis to screen it for inappropriate content. This screening happens entirely on your device; neither Apple nor we see the frames as part of it.

1.4 Video and Analysis Data

Important: Your full video never leaves your device. Only the extracted still frames are sent, over an encrypted connection, to our backend server, which passes them to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered delivery analysis. Frames are not stored on our servers after the analysis completes and are not used to train AI models.

Along with the frames, the App sends context that helps the coaching fit the pitcher: pitching hand, age group, and a short summary of recent analyses described in coaching terms (for example, "Developing"), not your videos or images. Some text-only features, such as pitch comparisons, the AI Coach's Assessment, and bootcamp summaries, send stored analysis results instead of frames. Pitcher names and profile photos are never sent.

1.5 Device Verification

To protect our service from abuse, HeaterIQ uses Apple's App Attest to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the App on a real Apple device. This creates a cryptographic key that stays in your device's secure hardware. Our server stores only a key identifier, the matching public key, and a usage counter. These are not linked to your name, Apple ID, or any analysis content.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We share video frames and the analysis context described in Section 1.4 with Anthropic, PBC (provider of the Claude AI API) solely to perform delivery analysis and coaching. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy at anthropic.com/privacy. We use Railway (railway.app) to host our backend server infrastructure, and PostHog (posthog.com/privacy) for anonymous, aggregate usage analytics. No video content, pitcher names, or personally identifiable information is included in analytics events. As with any internet request, your device's IP address is visible to these providers when the App connects to them; we do not use it to identify you.

3.2 Apple

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/privacy.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of HeaterIQ, our users, or others.

4. Data Storage and Security

Delivery analysis results, your pitcher profiles, and profile photos are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and standard iOS file storage. We do not maintain a user account database or store personal information (including profile photos) on our servers beyond what is necessary to process each individual request. The device verification records described in Section 1.5 are the only per-device data our server keeps.

Your Pitch Report Card is generated entirely on your device. No report card data is transmitted to our servers. When you choose to share a report card, you export it directly from your device using the system share sheet.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted HTTPS connections for all data transmission. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Children's Privacy

HeaterIQ is designed to be used by pitchers of all ages, including children under 13, under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The App does not require account creation and stores all personal data locally on the device.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children's use of the App and any videos submitted for analysis. If you believe a child has submitted information without appropriate supervision, please contact us at the address below.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Deletion

Because HeaterIQ stores all pitch history and pitcher profile data locally on your device, you can delete all app data at any time by deleting the App from your device. This permanently removes all locally stored pitch records, analysis results, profile information, and profile photos. You can also delete individual pitches, delete a pitcher profile, or remove a profile photo within the App without uninstalling it.

6.2 Camera and Photo Library Access

You can revoke the App's access to your camera or photo library at any time through your device's Settings → Privacy & Security menu. Revoking camera access will prevent you from recording delivery videos. Revoking photo library access will prevent you from uploading videos or setting a profile photo from your camera roll. Microphone access is optional; if granted, it only adds sound to videos saved on your device, and audio is never sent to our servers.

6.3 Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel your HeaterIQ Pro or Family subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings or the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

7. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies:

8. Data Retention

We do not retain video frames on our servers after an analysis request is completed. Analysis results stored on your device are retained until you delete them or uninstall the App. Device verification records are deleted automatically after 180 days without use. Server logs may be retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the Effective Date at the top of this policy and, for material changes, by posting a notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
